What is Zerona?

By utilizing advanced laser technology, a Zerona treatment allows patients to achieve significant weight loss without resorting to rigorous exercise, unhelpful diets, or invasive surgery. In essence, the treatment involves applying a laser slimming device to collection of fat on the arms, abdomen, hips, and thighs. These lasers cause the fat cells to shrink, resulting in noticeable weight loss. In fact, as a testament to the efficiency of the Zerona treatment program, the experienced physicians at SpaMedica guarantee a minimum circumferential reduction of 3.5 inches in the abdomen, hips, and thighs.

How Much Does a Zerona Treatment Cost?

While the cost of Zerona varies according to the amount of fat that the patient would like to remove, in general, a one-month unlimited treatment program starts at $1,999.

How Long Does It Take to Recover From a Zerona Treatment?

Unlike a traditional liposuction procedure, a Zerona treatment boasts a recovery process that is practically non-existent. In fact, it is not uncommon for patients who undergo Zerona to return to work immediately after the treatment.

How Long Does a Zerona Treatment Take?

The length of the procedure depends on the breadth of cosmetic work. However, on average, it takes approximately 30 minutes to perform a Zerona treatment. To achieve the best results, doctors recommend undergoing 3 treatments per week over the course of one month. Following this period, patients generally notice that their weight has decreased by at least one size.

Combination is The Key

SpaMedica has the best selection of non-surgical liposuction technology in Canada. Each non-invasive liposuction program is customized to include the best possible combination of devices that will give the most effective permanent fat reduction, skin tightening, and muscle toning results. At the time of your consultation, your consult coordinator will review the best combination of technologies to provide the results you are looking for.
SpaMedica is Canada’s largest, oldest, and most respected private cosmetic laser center. Why are there so many non-surgical liposuction device options? The answer is simple: using only one device will not give the best results. Superior non-surgical liposuction, permanent fat reduction, tightening and smoothing outcomes are only achieved by the customized combination of two or more of the following technologies that work in different, synergistic and summative ways to achieve the best results, including:

● SculpSure hyperthermic permanent fat removal

● CoolSculpting hypothermic permanent fat destruction

● UltraShape permanent ultrasonic fat reduction

● Vanquish hyperthermic microwave permanent fat reduction

● Venus Freeze

● BodyFX

● Exilis and Venus Legacy Radiofrequency skin tightening technologies

● Morpheus8 body fractional radiofrequency fat destruction

● VelaShape RF fat reduction

● Liposonix ultrasonic thermal fat destruction

Who is a Candidate for Zerona?

There is no particular age restriction for a Zerona treatment, and there is no specific trait that defines a “good” candidate. Fundamentally, good candidates are patients who would like to remove unwanted fat without undergoing the invasiveness of a traditional liposuction procedure. However, as is the case with most cosmetic procedures, good candidates should have logical expectations concerning the risks and benefits of the procedure.

However, please note that the treatment is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or who have a pacemaker. In addition, the treatment should be avoided in areas where there are cancers, lesions, or infections.

What are the Benefits of Zerona?

Non-Invasive
With a Zerona treatment, patients experience a significant reduction of unwanted fat without resorting to invasive surgery.

Quick Procedure
In most cases, Zerona treatment only takes 30 minutes to perform.

No Recovery Period
Whereas a traditional liposuction procedure involves a lengthy recovery period, a Zerona treatment boasts no downtime.

Painless
While other fat reduction treatments can cause some discomfort, a Zerona treatment is completely painless.

What are the Risks of Zerona?

Like all procedures, a Zerona treatment comes with the risk of potential complications. Dr. Mulholland has been performing Zerona treatments for several years and, after this many procedures, the risk of a significant complication is extremely low. Although Dr. Mulholland has not seen most of the risks listed below, these Zerona risks have been reported:

Bruising
In rare cases, the procedure may result in bruising that can last several days.

Numbness
The affected area may feel numb following the procedure, but this side effect is typically temporary.

Swelling
In some cases, the procedure can result in swelling. However, this swelling should subside in the days following the procedure.

Redness
Like these other potential risks, any redness should diminish not long after the treatment.

Why Choose SpaMedica for a Zerona Treatment?

At Toronto’s SpaMedica facilities, patients can find a combination of state-of-the-art fat reduction technologies and individualized approaches. Dr. Stephen Mulholland and SpaMedica have been at the forefront of non-surgical liposuction programs. As such, you can be certain you will be receiving the best possible high-tech devices to optimize the amount of permanent fat reduction.

Non-Surgical Zerona Alternatives

SpaMedica has Canada’s largest collection of successful localized hands free fat destruction technologies, including Coolsculpting, SculpSure, Evolve TRIM, and Vanquish. These devices are newer and generally more successful in killing localized fat in fewer treatments than a zerona program.

How is a Zerona Treatment Performed by Dr. Mulholland?

As a Zerona treatment is completely painless, there is no topical or local anesthesia involved in the procedure. During the treatment, the Zerona lasers circle over the mid-section of the body. The lasers painlessly penetrate the skin, shrinking the fat cells. By the end of the one-month treatment, millions of superficial fat cells will shrink, resulting in noticeable fat reduction and significant body contour improvements.

How to Prepare for a Zerona Treatment

Prior to your procedure, Dr. Mulholland and his team will review your medications and medical history. Based on the scope of the treatment, SpaMedica doctors may recommend that you stop taking certain medications before the procedure. It is also recommended that you consume a healthy diet and drink plenty of liquids before your treatment.

What to Expect After a Zerona Treatment

There is no recovery involved in a Zerona treatment. Indeed, after each session, patients typically opt to return to normal activities immediately, including high-exertion exercise. Typically, patients can expect to see between 2-4 cm of fat reduction after undergoing a Zerona treatment program. While there is no maintenance required following the program, it is imperative that patients maintain their weight following the final Zerona treatment to ensure the best results.

Best Procedures Paired with a Zerona Treatment

Zerona is often combined with other fat reduction technologies, such as Evolve TRIM, TITE, BodyFX, Venus Freeze, Coolsculpting, SculpSure and UltraShape. By combining Zerona with these other treatment programs, patients can expect results that are more localized and precise.

Zerona FAQ

How Painful Is It to Get a Zerona Treatment?

Due to its minimally invasive approach, a Zerona treatment is not considered to be painful at all. Indeed, patients are treated while lying in a relaxing spa environment. After the procedure, patients can expect a bit of discomfort, tenderness, and swelling in the targeted areas. However, these sensations should subside the following day.

Can I Use Zerona If I’ve Had Liposuction Before?

Yes, you can undergo a Zerona treatment even if you have already had a liposuction procedure in the past. If you are unsatisfied with the results of your liposuction procedure, a Zerona treatment is an ideal, non-invasive option to finally achieve the body contour of your dreams.
